Join presenter Laura Friesell for a unique program and learn how to navigate in the great outdoors without Google Maps! Join us for this new program, presented at Hitchcock Nature Center on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:30 p.m. Students will learn basic principles of map & compass navigation during Tuesday evening's classroom session.

Topics will include how to read, interpret, & navigate a topographic map, how to identify parts of a compass, & how to use a compass in conjunction with a topographic map. Cost for this program is $15.00 per student and includes all program materials, & admission to the park. Online pre-registration is required by Friday, August 16th as space is limited. 

Please Note: This program requires a minimum number of registered participants to proceed. If we do not reach our required minimum this program will be cancelled & refunds issued to registered participants. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the date of the first programming session by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with staff directly. Cancellations made less than 1 week (7 days) in advance will not be refunded.

This program is being presented as part of our adult educational programming, attendees must be age 14 & over.  For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283, reservations will not be taken over the phone.

This event is not pet friendly, please leave your dogs at home. Service animals are always welcome. Weather Permitting.
