HawkWatch Eagle Migration Event

Join Hitchcock Nature Center staff & HawkWatch volunteers as we celebrate & support the Hitchcock HawkWatch during our annual Eagle Migration Event on Saturday, November 9th.

This event begins at 1:00 p.m. & features a variety of activities for participants of all ages. Planned activities include:

  • Live raptor demonstrations -  ​Presented courtesy of Shelby County Conservation, free will donations in support of their raptor program are encouraged & gratefully accepted
  • A presentation on the Hitchcock HawkWatch & how to develop your own raptor identification skills
  • A guided birding hike to spot migrating raptors in action with help from an expert
  • A chance to meet our team of HawkWatch volunteers & see them in action

Cost for this event is $3.00 per person, children age 5 & under are free & do not need to register. The program free includes park admission, all offered programming, & refreshments. 

Pre-registration is required by November 6th as space is limited. Please register online. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283, registrations will not be taken over the phone.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program start date by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with Environmental Education staff. Cancellations made after 1 week (7 days) will not be refunded. Program fees for events cancelled by PCC for any reason will be refunded. 

 

This event is not pet friendly, service animals are welcome. Weather permitting, please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge.
