Join us at Hitchcock Nature Center on Saturday, December 7th at 4:00 p.m. for an informative local history program. Join local experts Glenn Pollock & Larry Grill as they recount the 1820 expedition of Steven Watts Kearny & Andrew Talcott through Iowa.
In 1820, 32 people, 8 mules, & 7 horses traveled from Fort Atkinson to what is now Minneapolis, Minnesota. This presentation will trace their journey through Iowa using the journal writings of Kearny & Talcott. Hear stories of survival & discovery & learn more about the plant & animal species they encountered during their travels.
Cost for this event is $3.00 per person & includes admission to the park, all programming, & refreshments, pre-registration is requested as refreshments will be served. This program is being presented as part of our adult education programming, we ask that participants be age 12 & over please.

Cancellations received less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the event will not be refunded. Program fees for events cancelled by PCC for any reason will be refunded.
