Students entering 1st & 2nd Grade are invited to explore nature during Wild Ones at Hitchcock Nature Center June 30th through July 2nd.Campers will walk on the wild side during this immersive camp experience packed full of fort building, hiking, outdoor games, nature crafts, & more.
Wild Ones camp is designed for unaccompanied campers entering 1st & 2nd grade. Camp will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center in Honey Creek, IA & will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. June 30th through July 2nd. Cost for this three day camp is $75.00 per camper & includes park admission, snack, camp materials, & three take-home activity packets. We also request campers bring a refillable water bottle, sunblock & insect repellent, also recommended are a hat, sunglasses, long pants & closed toe shoes. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited.
Due to Covid-19 our staff has altered the hours & organization of our annual Summer Nature Camps to keep our campers and staff as safe as possible
while still providing a fun and engaging summer camp experience for your child.
- Wild Ones Camp hours have been adjusted to 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Campers will not eat lunch during camp

Camp registration will be capped at 12 campers daily
- Campers will receive a special take-home activity packet each day of camp

Camp
staff have structured the day and activities to maintain 6’ of social
distancing to the extent possible
- Campers
will not be required to wear masks, however we
highly encourage each camper to have a mask to wear in situations where
social distancing is difficult or impossible
- Staff
will wear masks when not able to maintain 6’ of distance
- Staff
will regularly disinfect the facilities and frequently touched surfaces
- Daily
temperature checks will be required of all staff and campers
- Each
camper will have their own set of supplies to use for the week including
their own bottle of sanitizer and individually packaged snacks
A
pre-camp meeting via Zoom will be offered to parents the Friday before
camp to go over procedures and to answer questions. Each registered family will receive an email with a link to join this informational meeting, watch your email & make sure to check your spam folder.

the material needs of each camp we observe the following cancellation policy.
Cancellations
made prior to the end of day on June 12th will receive 100% refund

to 8 Days Notice - 25% Refund

Days or Less Notice - 0% Refund
