About "A Land Ethic Workshop"

"A Land Ethic Workshop" will focus on the work & life of naturalist & Iowa native Aldo Leopold. Each month participants will explore a new work by Leopold coupled with hands on activities such as hikes, aquatic studies, guest lectures, sketching, journaling and more.

Programs are from 9:00 a.m. to noon & occur through December. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this program's structure has been altered with two online programs, remaining programs may be held in person at Hitchcock Nature Center if the situation allows or will be held in our online format if necessary.

Participants should note that classes held online will require an internet connection & the use of Zoom, programs held in person will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center & will at times require pedestrian travel over difficult terrain; some sessions may be physically challenging. Portions of each session will occur outdoors, students should come prepared for the weather & the elements. Attendance numbers for these programs have been reduced & all participants are asked to wear a mask, both inside and out, maintain six feet of social distancing, and use the hand sanitizer station at the entrance of the building. We will be outside on the trails for much of this program, so dress appropriately. Sunscreen and bug spray are advised.
