New Years Eve Midnight Hike

Celebrate the end of 2020 in style during this guided night hike through the Loess Hills at Hitchcock Nature Center on Thursday, December 31st at 11:30 p.m. This special, after hours hike is the perfect way to ring in the new year in style. 

This is a leisurely hike but please note this event will take place outdoors & involve pedestrian travel on uneven surfaces in low light & darkness. Flashlights will be permitted for portions of the hike but will not be in use the entire time. Strollers are not permitted. Please dress for the weather.

Cost is $5.00 per person & we ask that participants be age 5 & over please. Your admission fee includes admission to the park. This event is open to participants of all ages. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283.

*In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather participants will be notified via the email address provided during registration.

Due to COVID-19 the format of this program has been adjusted. 

  • 6-foot distance will be maintained between individuals/family groups
  • Masks requested while inside and when distancing is impossible outside
  • This program will be held primarily outdoors
  • Staff will wear masks when 6-foot distance is not possible or indoors
  • Maximum registration has been reduced
  • Participants must sign a participation waiver upon arrival

This event is not pet friendly. Please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge.

Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 and speaking with staff directly. Cancellations received less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the event will not be refunded. Fees for programs cancelled by PCC due to weather or other circumstances will be refunded.
