Spend the evening with your special someone at Hitchcock Nature Center during Lovebirds in Nature. Join us on Saturday, February 13th at 5:00 p.m. Start the evening with a guided snowshoe stroll or winter hike through the snowy hills of Hitchcock, and watch the sunset. When you return you will be welcomed by a cheery fire, delicious smores, and a steamy cup of cocoa! 

This event is being presented as part of our adult education programming & is intended for participants age 18 & over. Cost is $10.00 per person & includes park admission, refreshments, & snowshoe rental. Online pre-registration is required by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10th, space is limited. 

Participants should note this program will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center & will at times require pedestrian travel over uneven surfaces. Please dress for the weather. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283. 

*In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather participants will be notified via the email address provided during registration.

Due to COVID-19 the format of this program has been adjusted. 

  • 6-foot distance will be maintained between individuals/family groups
  • Masks required while inside and requested when distancing is impossible outside
  • This program will be held primarily outdoors
  • Staff will wear masks when 6-foot distance is not possible or indoors
  • Maximum registration has been reduced
  • Participants must sign a participation waiver upon arrival

This event is not pet friendly. Please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge.

Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 and speaking with staff directly. Cancellations received less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the event will not be refunded. Fees for programs cancelled by PCC due to weather or other circumstances will be refunded.
