Winter Survival

McFarland Park, Story County

Wednesday, December 16, 2020

Do you have the skills it takes to be a successful winter survivalist? Participants will be challenged to build shelters, light fires, and more. Wear proper winter attire (dress in layers) as we will be outside the entire time.

Program is suitable for ages 8 and up.

Equipment provided: all fire starting tools.

Register as a group. Fee of $10 per group -- groups must be limited to 5 people with at least one adult.

The registration deadline is Wednesday, December 9, at 4:00 p.m. Unless otherwise stated, refunds can be issued less a $5.00 processing fee per event for cancellations prior to the registration deadline. No refunds will be made after the registration deadline. To cancel a registration, please call (515)232-2516.

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to the ongoing development of COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation and face coverings mandatory when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
