In FLOAT I, Campers learn outdoor skills and experience canoeing basics, fishing, basic survival skills, games, hiking, how to read a map, and much more while exploring McFarland and West Peterson Parks! 

This camp runs Monday, June 28 - Tuesday, June 29. Camp will begin at 9:00 am and end at 3:30 pm daily.

 This camp is only for children that are completing 3rd or 4th grade in the spring of 2021.

Registration begins May 3rd at 6 pm and runs until June 14th at 4 pm. 

Please sign up for only one FLOAT 1 camp. 

Children will need to have a mask, sack lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, snacks, bug spray, water shoes, hiking shoes, etc. Masks are recommended when applicable. Will be outlined on parent letter as well. 

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation, and we recommend face coverings when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
