Nature Play: Pond Scooping

Tedesco Environmental Learning Corridor, Story County

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

Bring your water shoes and get ready to get wet and muddy! During this unstructured activity, we’ll provide scooping equipment and head to the pond to catch frogs, tadpoles, snails, and other fascinating pond creatures. Let the imagination, discoveries, and friendships unfold! Participants should wear clothes that can get wet and muddy and closed-toed shoes. Adults must remain present. After the designated pond time families are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and continue the fun and explore the rest of the park on their own. This program is free, but registration is required. This activity is most appropriate for ages 5 and up, but all ages are welcomeBe sure to meet at the "Nest."

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to the ongoing development of COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation and face coverings mandatory when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
