Tama

This 160 acre tract is managed first for wildlife and second for human recreational activities such as hunting, trapping, pond fishing, berry, nut, and mushroom harvest, hiking, and nature observation.

The tract is relatively undeveloped and is planned to remain that way. The area was purchased in 1986 with funding assistance from the Wildlife Habitat Stamp Fund. This fund receives moneys collected from the wildlife habitat fee that is included in each hunting license purchase. Fifty percent of these funds are used for county wildlife projects.

There are no OHV's, snowmobiles, or horses allowed on this property.

Located 3-1/2 miles southeast of Tama on 370th street, SE1/4, section 13, Columbia Township.
