\non this car caravan tour.&nbsp; We will travel
\nover a portion of both counties on this program offered by Hamilton and Webster
\nCounty Conservation Boards. We will discuss some area history covering the area
\nglaciation , prehistoric woodland culture, expiration by the French Dragoons,
\nEuropean settlement of Iowa in the 1800s, gristmills and saw mills on the Boone
\nand Des Moines Rivers, pioneer school houses of rural Iowa, Spirt Lake Indian uprising
\nand Massacre, and the building of the original Fort Dodge. This program is for
\npeople who are interested in our local history that centers on the river
\nvalleys and crosses over into both counties. We will eat a late lunch at Tom Thumb Drive Inn in Fort Dodge if you would like to join us after&nbsp;the tour is done at the Fort Museum.&nbsp; Register your spot by
