DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=BASE64:The\nHetland Cemetery, a Hamilton County Pioneer Cemetery, is also known as the\nRorem Cemetery or Hetland Graveyard.&nbsp; A\nPioneer Cemetery is one in which there have been less than 12 burials in the\nlast 50 years.\n&nbsp;\n<br />\n<br />\nCemetery\nwalks are designed to draw attention to long-forgotten cemeteries and to\npreserve our history.&nbsp; Friends, relatives\nand history buffs are welcome to walk the cemetery and learn a little bit about\nthe people who helped form the southern part of Hamilton County in the late\n1800's.\n&nbsp;\n<br />\n<br />\nThe\nevening will feature presentations about some of the county&rsquo;s early settlers\nburied in the cemetery, demonstrations on stone recognition and repair, and how\nto locate unmarked grave sites.<br />\n<br />\n<span><strong style="text-decoration: underline;">Directions:</strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;</span>The Hetland Cemetery is located in Scott\nTownship.&nbsp; Take Hwy 175 east of Ellsworth\nto Young Ave. (about 3 &frac12; miles).&nbsp; Turn\nsouth on Young Ave to 350th street (2 miles); then turn east on 350th\nstreet.&nbsp; The cemetery is located on the\nsouth side of 350th street, about &frac12; mile.&nbsp; Parking is along the gravel road by the\ncemetery.<br />\n<br />\nFor more information contact John Laird at 515-832-9575 or <a href="mailto:hccblaird@wmtel.net">hccblaird@</a><a href="mailto:hccblaird@wmtel.net">wmtel.net</a>
