Clayton \nCounty Conservation is excited to host the next Building Better Birders Workshop \nwith Kelly McKay. The Building Better Birders Series gives participants a \nchance to learn many new skills with world class birder Kelly McKay. Join us \nfor this in depth presentation on Iowa Raptors followed by an Owl Prowl on Thursday, \nApril 8th at 6:00pm in the \nOsborne Nature Center. \n \n
\n\nWildlife \nBiologist Kelly McKay, of the BioEco Research and Monitoring Center, with \nassistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) and Brian Ritter (Nahant \nMarsh Education Center), developed the Building Better Birders Series in an effort \nto advance public skills identifying birds and to promote more involvement in \nCitizen Science programs. Last year their pilot program in Clinton County was \nhonored with the “Ding Darling Environmental Education Award” from the Iowa \nAssociation of Naturalists and the Iowa Conservation Education Coalition. This \nyear McKay is expanding this program to other counties throughout Iowa. These \nworkshops are funded through a grant from the Resource Enhancement and \nProtection-Conservation Education Program (Reap-CEP). \n \n
\n\nClass \nsize is limited to allow for social distancing. Participants are \nencouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing while attending. The \nOsborne Center is located on Highway 13, five miles south of Elkader.
