The \nnext fundraising event for the Nature All Around Us Art Series will be at 6 p.m. \non July 16th at the Osborne Nature Center. Space is limited, so reservations \nare required. Deadline to register will be Thursday, July 15th.
\nParticipants \nwill learn the art of Eco Printing with Naturalist Abbey. Using simple and \nnatural plant materials, we will transform fabric using eco-dyeing techniques, \na method discovered by Textile Artist India Flint. We’ll discuss bundling \nmethods and wrap our own fabric bundles. The bundles will be heated to release \nthe colors from the plant matter. Open to adults and teens, all art materials \nwill be provided and participants will leave with a finished project to take \nhome. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages to enjoy while \nthey work.
\nFunds \nfor this will benefit the Nature All Around Us Mural Project that was completed \nlast spring at the Osborne Nature Center by Artist Jordyn Brennan, from Upper \nIowa University. A grant through the Iowa Arts Council funded part of this \nproject, but we still need a few matching funds to complete the grant. The Nature All Around Us Art Series is \ndesigned to inspire the imagination during educational programs and bring \nawareness and appreciation of art and nature to Osborne’s visitors. Watch our \nwebsite and Facebook page for upcoming workshops.
