DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=BASE64:<p>Interested in paddling a stretch of Iowa's newest Water Trail?\nJoin us to experience 5 miles of the Little Sioux River as it winds its way\nalong the stretch of the Inkpaduta Canoe Trail between Washta and Walling River\nAccess. As the river meanders north of Correctionville, a mix of woodland and\nopen countryside can be viewed. Paddlers will need to navigate around some\ndeadfalls and along riffles and should have some paddling experience.&nbsp;\n</p>\n<p><strong>What to bring:</strong> Bring water, lunch and snacks, insect\nrepellent and sunblock; and for comfort, consider wearing quick drying clothing\n(not cotton), a hat/cap and/or sunglasses to protect you from the sun, and\nwater shoes (or, old sneakers that you don&rsquo;t mind getting wet and muddy).\nSandals and flip-flops are not ideal&mdash;closed-toed footwear is the best way to\nprotect your feet. </p>\n<p>\n<strong>Where:</strong>\nWoodbury County: Washta to Walling River Access ~ 5 miles. Meet at the\nWashta River Access at 9:00 am to offload canoes/kayaks and gear. We\nwill drive all our vehicles to the takeout (Walling River Access) and return to\nthe put-in (Washta) in as few vehicles as possible&mdash;often referred to as the\n&ldquo;shuttle&rdquo;. </p>\n<p>\n<strong>Trip Lead:</strong>\nShelby County Naturalist Christina Roelofs will be leading the\npaddle.&nbsp;Christina has been a Naturalist for 25 years.&nbsp; She&rsquo;s shared\nbetween the Shelby County Conservation Board and the Iowa DNR.&nbsp;She enjoys\nteaching people about a wide variety of nature topics including paddling.&nbsp;\nI grew up in Northwest Iowa.&nbsp; I have loved being outdoors my whole\nlife.&nbsp; I grew up camping and fishing.&nbsp; I have been paddling since I\nwas a kid.&nbsp; I love to kayak and kayaking on rivers is one of my favorite\nthings to do.</p>\n<p>\n<strong>Important Notices:</strong> <strong>Attendees must register prior to the event</strong>,\nwhich includes filling out a waiver which can be found here: https://form.jotform.com/260695822247161 -Paddle Event Registration - The Inkpaduta Canoe Trail (AUGUST 8). <strong>Attendees are also required to bring their own\nwatercraft (kayaks and canoes), paddles and life vests.</strong></p>\n<p>\nLearn more about Inkpaduta Trail events at Upcoming Events &mdash; Inkpaduta Canoe\nTrail - https://www.inkaputacanoetrail.org/events&nbsp;</p>
