Join Buchanan County Conservation for a seed harvest at \nBearbower Sand Prairie in celebration of National Public Lands Day. The dress \ncode is Iowa Farmers. Put on your best bib overalls, sturdy boots, and your \nbest straw hat. Just like farmers we will do our own seed harvest in fall and help \none of the most endangered ecosystems in the world, the prairie.
\nDid you know that prairies are more rare than the great barrier reef? Less than 0.1% of prairie is left on Public Lands in the state of Iowa and they need our help now more than ever! Help us build more prairie by harvesting seed from many of Iowa’s unique native plants.
\nThe event will consist of an intro to prairies, a brief run down of the plants will collect, and then the harvest.
\n\nParticipants come dressed for the conditions, wear long \npants, closed-toed shoes, and bring a bottle of water.
