Construct your own upcycled rain barrel using 55-gallon food-grade steel drums provided by Big Grove Brewery. \nWe’ll provide all parts to assemble the barrel spigots and eaves \nhook ups as part of the $40 program fee. Participants can \nchoose to paint their barrel as part of the class using provided outdoor acrylic paint, with optional large flower stencils.
\nParticipants will need a way to transport the barrel home at the end of the event. The barrels are large and would be best-transported in a truck, SUV, or hatch back. They will likely not fit in a four-door sedan.
\nRegistration for this event opens Oct 13.
\nThere is a $40 material fee. We cannot offer refunds through this payment platform in the case of a cancellation. Please do not register if you cannot commit to the program. If an emergency comes up that prevents class attendance, the participant will be able to pick up supplies and instructions to make the barrel on their own.
\nPhotos may be taken for promotion during the event. Please email jccnaturalists@gmail.com to request no photos be taken of you/your family.
\nRegistration automatically closes one day in advance. If you are fully registered, you can expect to receive an email "receipt" from MyCountyParks after registration. You will also receive an email from the leading naturalist a couple days in advance of the program. If you do not receive these emails, you may not be registered; call 319-645-1011 for assistance in this case.
