Have you ever wondered why leaves change color in the fall? Become a nature scientist as we uncover the hidden colors inside autumn leaves! Participants will use leaf chromatography to separate the different pigments found in leaves and discover that there may be more colors hiding inside a leaf than we can see. After our experiment, we’ll head outdoors to explore the trees around us. We’ll investigate fallen leaves, look for differences between tree species, and discover what happens to deciduous trees as they prepare for winter. Registration is required.
