DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=BASE64:This course will cover a variety of topics related to Iowa’s natural resources and environmental health. Participants will acquire tools that will help them lead a life that contributes to sustainability. Those who attend the series are eligible to become certified as Master Conservationists through Iowa State University Extension.<br />

\nTo become a Master Conservationist you need to: - <br />
\nHave an interest in conservation and environmental issues and concerns.- <br />
\nAttends hands-on training sessions.- <br />
\nProvide 32 hours of volunteer efforts.- <br />
\nHave a willingness to learn and share ideas with others.<br />
\n<br />
\nCourse topics will include Iowa’s physical environment, ecological principles and techniques, wildlife diversity, woodlands, prairies, wetlands, sustainable agriculture and land use, energy and waste reduction, and water quality. <br />
\n<br />
\nThe course will be held on seven consecutive Tuesday nights, April 6-May 18, from 6-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Locations will vary with participants receiving field experience.
