Guide to Outdoor Adventure
Wright
County
Education
The following 5 pages contain an alphabetical listing (by county) of the 64 interpretive nature centers located in 60
counties across the state. Most counties have naturalists on staff and specific hours of operations for their centers.
We encourage you to contact the county in advance of your visit to check on the availability of the facilities. Many
counties provide a list of their scheduled programs either on MyCountyParks.com, or via links to other locations.
There are over 25,800 programs & events
that are scheduled each year
attended by
some 750,000+ people annually. In addition
to the regular scheduled programs, requests
are accepted by most counties for special
presentations, school programs and field
trips. Interpretive centers generally feature:
exhibits about native Iowa species of flora &
fauna; local geographical & Native American
history; and function as a local information
resource.
We look forward to your visits!
The grid column
for Nature
Centers & other
special features
is highlighted in
blue on these
pages.
