County
Little River Recreation Area
Jointly managed by the Decatur County Conservation Board
and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the 2,200 acre
Little River Recreation Area offers something for everyone. Little
River Lake (787 acres) provides some of Iowa’s best walleye, bass,
crappie, catfish, and bluegill fishing. Waterskiing and pleasure
boating are also allowed. Four boat ramps and six fishing jetties
make access convenient and easy. The adjoining wildlife area
offers excellent upland game and waterfowl hunting in addition
to cross country skiing and hiking. Other park activities include
camping, picnicking, and swimming. A modern campground
with rental cabins is located on the lake providing a picturesque
view of the water. Conveniently located near the campground,
the Little River Bait Shop stocks a wide assortment of bait, tackle,
and boating supplies. The surrounding communities offer quality
shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Whatever you enjoy,
the choice is yours at Little River Recreation Area. For more
information, contact the Decatur County Conservation Board.
