- Under general administrative direction of the ICCS Board of Directors, serves as the Chief Executive Officer - responsible to plan, coordinate, direct and oversee all aspects of Iowa's County Conservation System (ICCS) program and operations.
- Supervise all part-time, contractual and internship staff following standard human resource management practices.
- Coordinate system's electronic communications. Recommend updates or changes to maintain current and effective promotional and informational tools.
- Provide general oversight and management for the digital footprint of Iowa's County Conservation System by working closely with the contracted Internet Systems Administrator. Includes administrative support, training and general knowledge of all operations.
- In conjunction with the ICCS Board of Directors - recommend, develop and upon approval, implement the annual budget; manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on monthly intervals. In coordination with the Internet Systems Administrator - provide the same fiscal structure and operations for the MyCountyParks.com operational Division.
- Represent Iowa's County Conservation System and perform in a professional, responsible and trustworthy manner. Maintain confidentiality and security of information as appropriate.
- Provide administrative support for IACCB District Meetings and operations. Prioritize attendance to all district meetings as available and provide programming and presentations as warranted.
- Actively engage, participate with and and reach out to all County Conservation Divisions (IACCBE, CCDA, CCPOA, IAN, MCP.com and AFIRM(- attend business meetings as possible and provide networking support as available.
- Coordinate, plan and implement statewide and regional conferences and workshops for board members and employees; Work with local conservation boards, IACCB Districts and partner organizations to effect high quality events; provide conference administrative support throughout the planning process, as well as financial and registration administration.
- Work directly in coordination with contract legislative team and other politically active partner organizations in representing county conservation board interests to the Iowa Legislature, Governor and other statewide leadership.
- Elevate awareness of Iowa's county conservation board system with both internal and external marketing strategies.
- Publicly represent Iowa's County Conservation System with the media and external constituency groups, including community, governmental and private organizations - building excitement for the statewide CCB system, services, facilities and resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in natural resources, outdoor recreation or a related natural science field. Prefer10 to 15 years of progressively responsible management experience within Iowa's County Conservation System. (See More Information link below)
