Description
Equipment/ Job Location:
This position requires the operation of all types of
equipment including trucks, tractors, mowing equipment, chainsaws, weed eater,
power tools, tree planter, native grass drill and all types of hand tools. The
employee will be required to work in all types of environmental conditions and
be willing to do strenuous physical labor.
Functions of the Job: Job duties will assist with all aspects of development of
County wildlife areas, parks and trails.
Develops a project work list and prioritizes work projects
Responsible for opening and closing parks annually
Responsible for inspecting and maintaining park boundaries
Responsible for park sign construction, placement and
maintenance
Performs other duties directed by the Executive Director
Availability to work irregular hours including weekends and
holidays as needed
Answer questions from the public concerning areas managed by
the Conservation Board.
Required Skills, And Abilities:
Knowledge of equipment and vehicle usage and repair
Knowledge of materials, methods and techniques used in
construction of buildings, and facilities within managed areas.
Knowledge of electrical and plumbing. Experience involving park operations and maintenance a plus. Possession of a Pesticide Applicators License. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, supervisors and fellow employees.
Qualifications
Minimum two-year degree in a conservation or natural resource related field with a minimum 2 years work experience in a conservation related field is required. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license.
