Summer Naturalist Intern

Description

This position will run approximately April through August (negotiable) and will offer opportunities to actively participate in environmental education, interpretation, visitor services, and natural resource management. The position is around 40 hours per week.  

Duties:  Develop and present educational programs, assist with summer camps, design and construct nature center displays, assist with educational animal care, write articles for the county conservation newsletter, assist with resource management, and other duties as assigned. Some night and weekend hours will be required.  

Qualifications: Either be enrolled in or have a degree in natural resources, environmental education, interpretation, parks and recreation, conservation, environmental studies, or a related field. The applicant must also possess a valid driver’s license, have the ability to get to and from the work site, use hand and small power tools, and be physically able to work in extreme conditions (heat, humidity, steep terrain, etc).  

Compensation: $10/hour
