Campground Host

 Summary: This is a seasonal, volunteer "live-in" position located at Otter Creek Lake & Park (Toledo, IA) for the 2020 camping season (estimated duration May-October).

 Schedule: Volunteer must camp at the Otter Creek Lake & Park campground at provided site for position duration. Must be available varying daytime and evening hours. Typically will be expected to be on duty at park/campsite 5 days per week and will regularly get 2 days off per week. Schedule may vary during holiday weeks, etc.

 Duties:

• Assist campers and other park users by providing helpful information and answering questions
• Explain provided park rules & regulations to visitors
• Assure that campers register properly through self-registration process
• Assist campers in parking RV's and extra vehicles properly
• Perform basic custodial cleaning and stocking of supplies in shower house and restroom facilities 
• Perform basic maintenance of campsites, including cleaning out fire rings, picking up litter and branches, trimming, etc.
• Perform occasional driving rounds through park to provide basic monitoring measures
• Notify staff of any issues with campsites/campers
• Contact proper authorities by telephone or radio in case of emergency

Compensation: This unpaid, volunteer position is compensated with free designated campsite for entire 2020 camping season, including electric hookup and water hookup. Dump station is available within park but located driving distance from campsite. All equipment and supplies provided.

Qualifications: Individual or couple must provide their own RV, be over 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license and ability to pass a county background check. Must enjoy camping, be friendly, and be comfortable doing rules enforcement.
