Seasonal Maintenance Technician

Full-time seasonal position working 40 hours per week. Working April-September with flexible start and end dates in areas managed by the Kossuth County Conservation Board.

JOB DUTIES

Under direction of the Kossuth County Conservation Board Operations and Maintenance staff, this position will assist in the maintenance and development of county parks and wildlife areas. Typical tasks include but are not limited to park grounds and facilities upkeep, mowing, trimming, and management of wildlife areas including assisting with prescribed burns.  Includes the operation and maintenance of equipment (mowers, trimmers, power tools, trucks, tractors and farm equipment). Patrols parks and provides assistance and information to park visitors.  Job duties will require dealing with the public and other staff in a courteous and professional manner. Assists other staff with projects when requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.  Must have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of six months of applicable work experience.  Applicants must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and routinely lift 50 pounds. A non-standard workweek including some evenings and weekends is required.  A pre-employment background check, pre-employment physical and pre-employment drug test are required.

SALARY

$16.00-$18.00/hour depending on qualifications. No benefits.
