Seasonal Conservation Aide

Looking for two hardworking people to work as Conservation Aides through summer months. An opportunity to spend the summer working in the outdoors to provide visitors with a beautiful and safe place to recreate. Position will be based at Otter Creek Lake & Park (2283 Park Road, Toledo, IA 52342). This is a general maintenance position on outdoor recreation facilities in the county. Job tasks may include mowing, trail maintenance, garbage collection, janitorial tasks, etc.

Work Schedule: Position can start late April-early May and will end in late August to mid-September. 40 hours/ week and typical schedule will be Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. May be required to log occasional weekend hours.

Qualifications: All applicants must be at least 18 years old. Individual must possess a valid state of Iowa driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Tama County insurer, be a self-starter with good work habits and ethic, ability to work days and hours necessary with departmental operating schedules, capacity to follow oral or written job instructions with minimum direct supervision, and ability to observe conditions in the field, evaluate what needs to be done, and follow through.

Pay: $10.50 per hour
