Description
The Park Ranger position, under the general supervision of the Executive Director, will be assigned to a primary park, either Marion County Park or Cordova Park and will be responsible for the day to day operations, as well as development and improvements to the park. Duties include operating and maintaining equipment, machinery and tools associated with park maintenance. This position will also help at other Conservation Department parks and management areas as needed. This position will enforce the Code of Iowa and Conservation Department rules and regulations which include arrest authority, issuing warning and citations, and maintaining a safe environment for the public. This position will be responsible for taking facilities reservations, accounting reports and making monetary deposits.
This position will require a non-standard work week and will include nights, holidays and weekends as part of scheduling. Applicants must prosses a valid Iowa Driver's License and obtain a CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months after employment.
This position requires a Peace Office Certification through the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy or be able to obtain Certification within one year after employment.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in natural resources or natural sciences discipline, minimum of two years experience in an outdoor recreation or related field.
Peace Officer Certification or able to obtain within one year of hire.
