Description
The Linn
County Conservation Department has temporary (full-time) openings available for
the 2019 warm recreation season.
Positions are available in a variety of
locations throughout the county. Applications must be completed online at www.linncounty.org/jobs (Current Openings). Applications
will be accepted through February 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.
Position duties vary and rates of
pay range from $10.00 - $11.50 per hour.
Positions include: Park Attendant,
Natural Resource Aide, Watercraft Concession Manager, Naturalist Intern.
Examples of duties include:
General
park maintenance activities such as mowing, facility and area clean-up and
painting; interaction with park visitors; maintenance of park facilities and
minor equipment maintenance.
Campground
management; registering campers; some rule enforcement; interaction with park
visitors; cleaning facilities; mowing; trail patrol and fee collection; opening
and closing park facilities and other general park maintenance activities.
Coordination
and management of canoe and paddleboat concession and canoe trip operation;
maintenance of equipment, facilities and vehicles; and interaction with park
visitors as a park information center.
Summer Environmental Education in the Parks
- Provide environmental education to campers in order
to inform the public about natural resources and the environment. This 15-20
hour/week position would be for Friday, Saturday and Sunday programs or a
combination of days. Position will also assist Wickiup Hill staff with special
events.
Requirements:
Must
pass a County physical examination which includes a drug test after offer of
hire. Driver’s license required for all positions with some positions requiring
a commercial driver’s license which may be obtained post hire. Random drug
tests during employment may be required.
Non-standard work week – weekends and holidays may be required.
