Park Ranger I

The Wright County Conservation Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Park Ranger I.  In addition to the above qualifications, the job applicant will be required to obtain a Class B or above Iowa CDL and Iowa pesticide applicator certifications as required.  

Job duties include but not limited to :  The management and maintenance of park, recreational trails and wildlife areas in Wright County

     Grounds maintenance, Equipment maintenance,  Law Enforcement of park rules and regulations

      Interacting with  park users, educational programming and public relations

      Operation of motor vehicles, tractors, mowing equipment, utility vehicles and watercraft, application of                                                                         chemicals and pesticides, handheld power tools and equipment.

      Participation in grant writing, short and long term area management policies,  generating newspaper                                                                             articles, radio broadcasts and informational flyers for the park users and conservation board

      Participation in the hiring and directing of daily work assignments for seasonal employees

Applicants will agree to background checks for criminal history, driving record and sex abuse registries.

A post offer/pre-employment drug test and physical will be required.  Applicant chosen will be required to meet the standards for entry into the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy program and satisfactorily complete law enforcement training within one year of appointment or have law enforcement certification prior to hire, physical testing required.  Applicant chosen will be subject to random drug testing per federal regulations for licensed CDL drivers.
