Summer Conservation Technician

Basic responsibility: 

• Assist in operation, development, and maintenance of MCCB areas, facilities, and equipment.    

Knowledge, skills and abilities: 

• Knowledge of conservation principles, practices and trends.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner with the public.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, power and hand tools.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in all types of weather conditions.  

General duties and responsibilities:

• Participate in daily maintenance tasks in county areas such as mowing, trimming, painting, etc.
• Explain regulations and recreational opportunities for area users in a clear, concise, and courteous manner.
• Provide for safety of area visitors; administer first aid if needed.
• Maintain neat personal appearance and wear uniform while on duty.
• Adhere to agency policy and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by director.
• Work weekends, holidays, and other irregular hours as assigned.
