Description
Duties will include mowing, string trimming, chainsaw work, litter control, general carpentry, prairie maintenance, and planting/pruning trees and shrubs. Conservation aide will report/repair safety hazards; offer assistance and information to the public; assist park rangers with area monitoring; maintain working relationships with other employees and the public; attend mandatory safety training and staff meetings; and perform related tasks as assigned.
Work will involve the operation of tractors, mowers/trimmers, chainsaws, and power tools. Hours will average 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and may include some weekends and holidays. Areas of Focus: park operations including mowing, trail maintenance, project development, and natural resource management. Must have the ability to obtain a category 6 pesticide applicators certification within the first two weeks of employment.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and have a current, valid driver's license.
Employees will undergo post-offer, pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
