Description
Position will offer opportunities in maintenance
of county areas and facilities, including mowing, trimming, cleaning, painting,
etc., as well as assisting with natural resource management and naturalist
programming. Intern will receive valuable practical experience and training
during employment. Position begins May and ends August with 40 hours/week
(non-routine week including some weekends, evenings, and holidays). Exact start
and end dates are flexible for the 12-14 week position.
Applicants must be enrolled in or have a degree
in one of the following fields: ecology, environmental studies, recreation,
park management, biology, forestry, or other natural sciences. Must be 18 years
old, have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., possess a valid Iowa
driver’s license, and maintain an acceptable driving record. Certification in
First Aid and CPR desired but not required. Applicant will undergo a background
check in reference to their driving record.
Salary is $11.00-13.00,/hour, depending on qualifications. No benefits.
