What to do with all those tomatoes ripening in the garden? With just a few simple steps, you can save all that summery goodness to use in a recipe on a cold winter’s night. Buena Vista County Naturalist Katie Struss will present Canning 101: Tomatoes on Saturday, August 4 at 2 p.m. in the Shelter House at Gabrielson Park. Struss is an experienced canner, and her presentation will include an introduction to canning equipment and supplies, delicious home-tested recipes, taste-testing of several different recipes including pasta sauce and salsa, and more.
