Wednesday, March 16, 2022

This mini-camp is designed to teach students about wildlife and conservation with age appropriate activities. Each session will start at 9 am and go through 12:30 pm. Students that are currently in grades 2nd-5th are eligible to participate. Every day has a theme based around science and nature to best match our mission here at the nature center.   March 16th, Day 1 is All About Oceans (team recycled ocean animals activity,  slime jellyfish craft, creative “make your own” reef snack, and Finding Dory to end the day) March 17th, Day 2 is Endangered Animals (“Decorate a Teammate” endangered animal activity, cookie decorating, Clay Echidna craft, and Kung Fu Panda to end the day) March 18th, Day 3 is Protecting Nature (Start with The Lorax, group Truffula tree building activity, Lorax snack bag making, walk your Lorax craft)   To register, please follow the link here and sign up before the first day of the event. There is a maximum allotment of 50 students because of the size of our facility. Lunches will not be provided, but snacks will be strategically placed towards the last hour of the day so students can eat AFTER camp is over without being hungry. Popcorn and additional snacks will also be provided by our faculty. If you have questions for our staff members, please contact us at 641-648-9878 or via email at calkins@hardincountyia.gov
