Marion County Conservation has implemented changes to reduce the potential spread of the Coronavirus.

1. Effective today all Marion County Conservation Department parks will be closed to the general public through April 17th.  

2. Parks that will be closed are Marion County Park on the west edge of Knoxville and Roberts Creek Park and Cordova Park located on the north side of Lake Red Rock.  

3. Facilities closed include: all campgrounds, shelter houses, picnic areas, game courts, baseball & softball fields,     playgrounds, as well as the Observation Tower and Pavilion at Cordova Park and the Historical Village at Marion County Park.  

4. No reservations for park facilities, to be used prior to April 17th will be taken.        

5. All current reservations for park facilities through April 17th are cancelled and full refunds will be given. This includes reservations for campsites, shelter houses, the pavilion and cabins. Park Rangers are in the process of contacting these individuals to notify them of the cancellations and issue full refunds.   

6. Reservations for facilities to be used after April 17th can still be made at this time. Either on-line, or by phone.  

7. The current schedule is for all Marion County Conservation Department parks and facilities to re-open to the public on Friday, April 17th.    

Marion County Conservation is confident that these decisions are in the best interest of public and staff safety. These measures are in effort to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 through our community.  Thank you for your support and understanding. The 1535 acre Roberts Creek Park is one of the largest county managed parks in the state of Iowa. This park has two modern campgrounds located on the east and west sides of 300 acre Roberts Creek Lake, featuring 40 full hook-up sites in the west campground and 27 full hook-up sites in the east campground. Situated near Lake Red Rock, Roberts Creek Park offers a variety of recreational opportunities. With its abundant woodland and grassland areas, outdoor family activities and access to quality fisheries and boating; Roberts Creek Park is the destination for an assortment of outdoor enthusiasts.

Location

Roberts Creek West Campground is 7 miles west of the city of Pella at 1519 County Highway G28.

The Roberts Creek West Campground has 85 camping sites. Campsite amenities range from non-electric up to 50 Amp full service. The West Campground also contains a modern shower building, two additional flush restrooms, playground area, two open picnic shelters, parking areas for extra vehicles or boats and has a campground host on site.

The Roberts Creek East Campground.  The original 50 East Campground campsites are currently being renovated. Upon completion of the project, there will be 28 full service campsites. A new campground loop containing 27 full service campsites was opened in August of 2019, these sites are currently available to reserve. The East Campground also contains a modern shower building, sanitary trailer dump station, one additional flush restroom, playground area, parking area for extra vehicles or boats and has a campground host on site.
