Public Safety Plan Changes COVID-19

(Updated 5/13/2020):

In accordance with state recommendations regarding the COVID-19 emergency proclamation the following changes to our park operations are in place.

Parks: Cedar Bridge, Otranto, and Pioneer Parks will open May 14th at 8:00 a.m. Campgrounds will be open on a first-come, first-served basis for recreational camping. Halvorson and Interstate Parks will remain Closed until further notice. (They will open as soon as the public water supply test results are verified, we expect this to be before Memorial Day Weekend.)

-Only self-contained units, (those with internal water and restroom facilities) will be allowed.

-All restrooms and shower buildings are currently closed.

-Cabins, picnic shelters, and playgrounds will be closed until further notice.

-Campsite occupancy must be less than 10 people at all times.

-Campers should maintain a social distance of 6 feet from each other and each campsite.

-There shall be no personal contact between the campground host and campers.

-Campers should wear nitrile gloves when self- registering, using hookups, and at dump-stations.

-Please do not invite visitors to your campsite.

-Public Parks are not a safe place to Self -Quarantine.

Visitors are reminded to strictly abide to the social distancing rules and not gather in groups. Remember to stay home if you feel sick, wash your hands regularly, avoid touching your face, and bring supplies from home including disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, and other hygiene products.

We appreciate your cooperation and will keep you informed of any changes moving forward. Other areas that remain open for day use include trails, roads, stream and river access points, boat ramps, and wildlife areas. The Milton R. Owen Nature Center remains closed at this time.
