Homeschool in the Hills: Water Quality Monitoring - Afternoon Session

Area homeschool students and educators are invited to join us at Arrowhead Park in Neola for another fun filled Homeschool in the Hills event. This event was rescheduled from it's original program date of April 7th.

Join us on Tuesday, August 11th for some wet & wild fun. Participants will get to know our froggy friends as we explore common frog species during a frog & toad species survey. We will also be examining water quality & performing pond dipping experiments for cleanwaterhub.org.

Cost for this event is $3.00 per person for children age 3 & over, accompanying adults and children under 3 are free. Online pre-registration is required by Friday, August 7th as space is limited. Two sessions of this program are offered, this registration is for the afternoon session from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. To register for the morning session from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m please return to the program listing & select the morning session option.

Due to COVID-19 we have adjusted our format for this program. All activities have been moved outdoors, & up to two families at a time will rotate through our program stations keeping group numbers small.

* Morning session program stations will be offered from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., participants may arrive any time after 10:00 a.m. participants may arrive any time after 10:00 a.m. but must arrive no later than 11:00 a.m. to participate.

* Afternoon session program stations will be offered from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., participants may arrive any time after 1:00 p.m. but must arrive no later than 2:00 p.m. to participate.

Participants will have their temperature taken upon arrival & must sign a waiver before participating. Staff will be wearing masks during programming & masks are recommended for all participants as well. Pre-registration is required & walk-in participants will not be admitted.

These programs are delivered in a flexible format with both guided and self guided units and are designed for elementary school students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Each program will begin with a set of hands-on learning activities to introduce learners to our topic for the day and then a field session to view nature first-hand.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to program date by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with staff directly. Cancellations after 1 week (7 days) will not be refunded. Program fees for programs cancelled by PCC due to weather or other circumstances will be refunded.

While this event is family friendly it is not pet friendly, please leave your canine friends at home. Service animals are always welcome. Please meet at Breezy Lodge, weather permitting.
