McDonald Greenbelt



The 123 acres is managed as a wildlife area. It lies along the North Raccoon River and is mostly wooded uplands consisting of oaks, walnuts and maples. An abandon railroad right-of-way runs along the northwest line of the property. The lowland is mainly grassy. Park visitors may take in morel hunting or bird watching, while others may find an abundance of whitetailed deer, wild turkey and pheasant to hunt.  One may also enjoy canoeing or fishing for walleye, channel catfish and smallmouth.

Located two miles north of Sac City.
