Whether you love ice fishing or just want to try it, come out to the Big Sioux Recreation Area just West of Hawarden off 10th Street. This event will start at 10 am and go until noon. Bundle up, bring your own lunch, a bucket to sit on and we will provide the rest! We will have the fishing holes drilled, provide bait, and ice fishing poles. We will discuss the types of fish you may catch and other equipment used specifically for ice fishing. No cost for the program and the park entry fee is waived for the time of the program. Preregistration is required for event.
We will also have snowshoes available depending on snow depth.
Participants that are ages 16 and over wishing to fish must have a valid Iowa fishing license.
