Begin with a Bee Family Field Day!

October 2, 10am-12pm  

Meet local author, Jacqueline Briggs Martin, and Illustrator Claudia McGehee from the children’s book, Begin with a Bee as they help Linn County Conservation kickoff the fall story book trail at the Wickiup Hill Learning Center. Learn about the extraordinary life cycle of the rusty patched bumble bee and the plants they enjoy and depend on.  This event will include a public reading of the storybook Begin with a Bee as well as hands on activities for kids and families. After the story families are encouraged to buzz around the prairie and look for insects.  Bring a blanket or chair to sit for the reading. Please register ahead of time so we have enough materials for seed balls! This event is free.
