Try Kayaking

Peterson Park, Story County

Wednesday, June 16, 2021

Participants will receive basic instructions on how to operate a kayak, then tour West Peterson Lake with a naturalist as your guide. Paddlers will have the option to stay with the naturalist, or paddle around the lake on their own. Spots are limited. Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are provided. Participants must have the physical ability to get in and out of a kayak, and paddle on their own. Fee of $15 per person is required with registration by 4pm on Monday, June 14. Be sure to wear clothes and shoes that can get wet; sunscreen, bug spray, and sunglasses recommended. Age 14+.

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation, and we recommend face coverings when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
