Wednesday, October 25, 2017

Area seniors are invited to join us for a special presentation on raptor species of Iowa. Learn more about these amazing predatory birds & get to know our nationally recognized HawkWatch program. Bring your lunch and learn more about these impressive birds.

This program will be held Wednesday, October 25th from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Hitchcock Nature Center. Our gift shop, exhibit gallery & observation deck will be open before and after this program so make sure and allow extra time to explore all we have to offer at Hitchcock Nature Center.

The OWLS - Older, Wiser Learning Seniors, is a new partnership with The Center in Council Bluffs & is designed for senior learners with an interest in environmental science and conservation topics. Programs are presented by PCCB Naturalists and are held at the Center in Council Bluffs or at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center. We ask that participants be age 50 & over.

Attendees will either need to purchase a $2.00 per vehicle daily entrance pass or have a valid Pottawattamie County Parks annual permit. Daily passes may be purchased with cash or check at the front entrance on the day of the event. Annual permits may be purchased for $10.00 from staff at any of our parks or at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center during regular business hours. There is no additional fee to attend this program.
