Help conservation staff collect prairie seed at Story County’s hidden gem, Doolittle Prairie. We’ll show you what to collect and provide information about the plants around you as you work.
Why can’t work also be fun? After collecting seed, we’ll gather at Alluvial Brewing Company to relax, mingle, and enjoy discounted pints! Must be at least 21 years of age to join us at Alluvial Brewing Company. Those under 21 years of age are welcome to come collect prairie seed.
Other seed harvests will take place on September 27 or October 4.
Registration is required by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. Please bring a full water bottle.
For any outdoor program, SCC recommends wearing a hat and/or sunblock, using bug spray, and dressing for the weather. Our outdoor programs are weather dependent and may be cancelled if conditions are not favorable.
