Looking to meet your badge requirements? Look no further! Hartman Reserve Nature Center will be hosting a Scouts Day! Created for those who are Brownies, Juniors, Bears, Tigers, or Wolfs.

 

What's Covered? 

 

  1. Visit with Retrieving Freedom and discover what an animal helper is. Retrieving Freedom, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to training service dogs to help people. The mission of Retrieving Freedom, Inc. is to change lives through the training and placement of service dogs for disabled veterans and children with autism.
  2. Go out on a hike with snowshoes (weather depending). 
  3. Linda Nebbe, owner and rehabber from Black Hawk Wildlife Rehab, will be presenting about wildlife and what rehabs do to help wild animals. The Black Hawk Wildlife Rehabilitation Project is dedicated to providing the necessary medical and rehabilitative care to all injured, orphaned, or otherwise impaired wildlife during their confinement and adjustment period with us to ensure their complete adaptability and capability upon their release back into their natural environments.

 

The topics will be designed to meet or begin the following badges or requirements:

  • Outdoor Adventurer
  • Hiker
  • Senses
  • Trail Adventurer
  • Animal Helpers
  • Animal Habitats
  • Cubs Who Care

**We realize Animal Helpers is part of a Cadettes requirement. Cadettes will be allowed to come to this program if needed for their badges.

 

Cost is $5/scout. Please contact your local scout office for badges associated with these requirements as we will not be providing physical badges. Parents are welcome to stay at no cost. Dress for the outdoors and please bring your own flash light if able.
*If an adult will not attending with a child, you must fill out a waiver.

 

 

*Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If ​a program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar program will be offered in its place.​​​​
