the ancient healing path of Shinrin-yoku, or Japanese forest bathing, with Dr.
Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, Integrative Medicine physician. This gentle, mindful walk will invite
you to use your senses to enhance your well-being in the naturally-healing
outdoor environment of Hartman Reserve. Be ready to discover the refreshing and
often emotionally-moving medicine of the forest. Pre-registration
required; deadline is April 16. Participants should wear clothing and
shoes appropriate for the weather and may want to bring a water bottle. Since
the Friends of Hartman Reserve organization is sponsoring Dr. Bartlett
Hackenmiller, cost for the workshop is just $20. Limited to 20 participants.
Presenter Bio: Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, M.D., FACOG, FABOIM
Dr.
Bartlett Hackenmiller, M.D. is an OB-Gyn and Integrative Medicine physician who
currently lives and practices in Iowa. Dr. Bartlett Hackenmiller has been
quoted and featured in numerous publications on the subject of nature therapy,
including Prevention Magazine (October, 2016; August, 2017), WebMD, the Boston
Globe, Prevention Australia, the New York Times, and the American Airlines
American Way Magazine, among others. She is the author of an award-winning
children’s book about autism called “A Friend Like John, Understanding Autism,”
and speaks nationally and internationally on the subject of autism, integrative
medicine, and nature therapy. Her book, “The Outdoor Adventurer’s Guide to
Forest Bathing,” by Falcon Guides is slated for release in July, 2019. More
