kid fishing off a paddle board

Audubon County has a little something for everyone.  From spending your weekend nights cozy by a campfire with some friends or family, enjoying a peaceful morning on the water in search for that next bite, or if its utilizing the T-Bone trail for a 20 mile bike ride after work, Audubon County has it all!

Audubon County also offers year round environmental education programs, free kayaking and paddle boarding throughout the summers on weekends, and more than a handful of other opportunities .

Littlefield Recreation Area is owned and operated by the Audubon County Conservation Board (ACCB).  Its 444 acres provide many types of recreational opportunities that include camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, hunting, hiking, and winter sports. The campground has approximately 100 sites available in 3 different locations throughout the park.  Twenty of the sites have full sewer hook-ups and the camping season runs from April 15th -November 15th.  Littlefield also contains a 70 acre man- made lake that offers outstanding Crappie, Bluegill, Perch, Channel Catfish, and Largemouth Bass fishing.  The lake is restricted to electric motors only, and there is a fish cleaning table on the south side of the boat ramp parking lot for all of our anglers.

Audubon County is one of the prime areas in the state for pheasant hunting and holds a few quail as well. Although it is one of the smaller counties in Iowa, if its hunting you are after, there is no shortage of game.  Along with pheasants and quail Audubon County is home to a few other game species as well.  White-tail deer and turkey can be found here as well as an assortment of all different types of waterfowl.  The county itself only owns about 100 acres for public hunting but each and everyone of these species can be found on the properties throughout the year.
