Harrison County Conservation Board is located in the beautiful Loess Hills of western Iowa! There are 18 park and wildlife areas with almost 1,800 acres for outdoor recreation like camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, wildlife watching, picnicking and boating. We’re just an hour from Omaha and surrounding attractions including the Harrison County Historical Village and Iowa Welcome Center, Loess Hills State Forest/Brent S. Olson Memorial Visitor Center, and DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge. There’s something for everyone!

 

VISIT THE NEW WILLOW LAKE NATURE CENTER!

 

The NEW Willow Lake Nature Center opened to the public September 1st, 2023 at the Willow Lake Recreation Area near Woodbine. Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 p.m. and the following Sundays in winter: Jan 12th and 19th, Feb 2nd and 23rd, and March 16th and 23rd. The exhibit hall features interactive displays about watersheds, water, wildlife, and habitats-great for all ages! There is no entrance fee.

 

ATTENTION: AS OF SEPTEMBER 1st, 2023, HUNTING IS NO LONGER ALLOWED AT THE WILLOW LAKE RECREATION AREA.
