Marion County Conservation has implemented changes to reduce the potential spread of the Coronavirus.

1. Effective today all Marion County Conservation Department parks will be closed to the general public through April 17th.  

2. Parks that will be closed are Marion County Park on the west  edge of Knoxville and Roberts Creek Park and Cordova Park located on the north side of Lake Red Rock.  

3. Facilities closed include: all campgrounds, shelter houses, picnic areas, game courts, baseball & softball fields,     playgrounds, as well as the Observation Tower and Pavilion at Cordova Park and the Historical Village at Marion County Park.  

4. No reservations for park facilities, to be used prior to April 17th will be taken.       

5. All current reservations for park facilities through April 17th are cancelled and full refunds will be given. This includes reservations for campsites, shelter houses, the pavilion and cabins. Park Rangers are in the process of contacting these individuals to notify them of the cancellations and issue full refunds.   

6. Reservations for facilities to be used after April 17th can still be made at this time. Either on-line, or by phone.

7. The current schedule is for all Marion County Conservation Department parks and facilities to re-open to the public on  Friday, April 17th.    

Marion County Conservation is confident that these decisions are in the best interest of public and staff safety. These measures are in effort to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 through our community.  Thank you for your support and understanding. Marion County Conservation is located in south central Iowa and is home to the 106' Public Observation Tower at Cordova Park on the Lake Red Rock Reservoir. The Marion CCB manages 9 parks, trails and wildlife areas encompassing some 3,412 acres across the county.

Visa, Mastercard & Discover Card are the only forms of acceptable payment at this time.  American Express is not accepted

Discount Cards such as America the Beautiful, Golden Age, Golden Access, etc. are not accepted when making reservations for MCCB facilities.

               Marion County Park Only: In the event of freezing conditions, the water to the campsites may not be on.                              Water will be available at a hydrant to fill tanks, the shower building will be available for use.
